Wongai 4wd Hire is a hire and tourism company based right in the heart of Brisbane.

We offer 4wd hire packages around Queensland. This includes Off-Shore Adventure Holidays to places like Fraser Island and Double Island Point.

We need someone to come into our company to manage the workshop and fleet of 4wd’s. This means you will be:

- Maintaining service records of the vehicles
- Completing vehicle handovers including 4wd training and advice to customers
- Minor servicing, preparation and diagnosis of vehicles, driving vehicles to smash repairers, mechanical workshops and maintaining vehicle quality.
- Preparing the vehicles for departure including cleaning, installing roof top tents and checking underbody levels and vehicle condition.

This is a hands on job, and an excellent chance to really feel part of your work and the company as a whole. This a young business and it is a great opportunity to grow and learn new skills, your input will be heard and you will be working closely with the owner so a focused and can-do attitude is a must.

Some of the skills you should have are:

- **Mechanical know-how**. Able to find solutions unsupervised for day-to-day problems and mechanical repairs.
- **Attention to Detail**, this includes keeping your workspace clean and tidy, making sure you have an intimate knowledge of the vehicles and of diagnosis / repair.
- **Able to be Spontaneous** you will be on call for pilot driving of replacement cars, although this does mean that you will get occasional paid trips to Fraser Island and inland destinations, they will be at short notice and you should be able to focus on completing the job professionally and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- **Friendly and Confident** human interactions, this includes talking to customers on the phone if they encounter issues during their trip.

Some bonus skills that will help with the position:

- Camping and 4wd Driving Experience
- Mechanical knowledge (Apprenticeship completed or equivalent)
- Fast Decision Maker
- Ability to think forward to complete preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

**Salary**: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

**Experience**:

- Mechanic experience: 3 years (preferred)
- Vehicle Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- full and open manual driving licence (required)
