**About the Role**
The Manager Policy and Legislation operates in a complex, dynamic and politically sensitive environment and is accountable for the management of the legislative review program and for ensuring high quality advice is provided to the Environment Protection Authority and the Government.

The incumbent works with government and industry in developing solutions to minimise impacts and risks to the community. The Manager Policy and Legislation may represent the EPA or the Government on committees and other groups at the state or national levels as required. The role will also manage intergovernmental relations and provide high level advice on the impact of national policies on the State’s strategic plans and operations.

**Key Accountabilites**
- Drive the timely investigation, specification, and delivery of reforms to achieve EPA’s strategic directions and priorities.
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive, evidence-based and contemporary advice on policies and the delivery of priority initiatives.
- Develop stakeholder relationships that enhance strategic outcomes, build cross-business integration and understanding, and drive policy reform and change in a holistic and contemporary manner.

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is South Australia’s independent environment protection regulator. The organisation works to protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing. The EPA is responsible for the administration of the _Environment Protection Act 1993_ (EP Act) and the _Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021_ (RPC Act) and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

**Desirable Qualification**
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, law or other relevant discipline.

**Remuneration**
MAS3 ($127,859 per annum) + 11.5% super added to your choice of super fund.
