**Role Description**

The Data and Surveillance Coordinator role works within the Loddon-Mallee Public Health Unit and supports integrated intelligence and surveillance activities across the PHU (Communicable Disease, Environmental Health, Population Health) and across the surveillance continuum, ranging from data generation (collection and analysis) to data use (interpretation and response).

Reporting to the Epidemiologist and with the assistance of Data and Surveillance Support, they will be responsible for range of data-related functions that includes active enhanced data collection, data management and implementation of processes to maintain data quality in relation to Communicable disease management including case recording and outbreak management. This includes the review of notifications, liaising with doctors, health services and other internal and external stakeholders to enable the collection and reporting of high quality routine and enhanced surveillance data.

The Surveillance Coordinator will support the Epidemiologist in the creation and maintenance of reports.

This role will contribute to delivery of a resilient and sustainable place based public health response with a focus on data integrity, measuring and delivering outcomes, and working collaboratively with the Department of Health and other key government and non-governmental partners.??
