Purpose of Role

As Manager Community you will lead WIRE’s activities to create an integrated and highly strategic approach to the engagement with the individuals, communities and organisations supported by WIRE, and the delivery of WIRE’s projects and direct services. You will oversee the development of a planned and co-ordinated approach to WIRE’s community focussed work and ensure alignment with WIRE’s strategic goals.

You will report to the CEO and where necessary deputise for the CEO in their absence. You will be a member of the WIRE Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will work closely and collaboratively to achieve the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives.

Manager Community will:

- Provide effective leadership, guidance, supervision and support to the Projects Team Co-ordinator, Volunteer Co-ordinator, the Community Engagement Lead and the Service Delivery Co-ordinator
- Identify, develop and support effective community partnerships to enable WIRE to grow its services, better meet the needs of communities and broaden its reach and impact across Victoria;
- Develop and implement a framework and related processes to support, guide and monitor the identification, design, prioritisation and delivery of WIRE’s projects in line with the WIRE Strategic Plan;
- Identify new project and service opportunities and contribute to the strategic and operational design and development of project and program models;
- Support the relevant co-ordinators to manage the workload and wellbeing of their teams, ensure understanding of and adherence to WIRE’s principles, policies and procedures;
- Ensure all projects and services have the polices, processes and systems and supports in place successfully meet their contract, budget and compliance requirements, including, quality improvement, funding, OHS, and legislative expectations;
- In partnership with the relevant co-ordinators and the Manager Operations, identify, monitor and support the individual and team based professional development and performance needs of project and program staff including ensuring the provision of regular supervision, mentoring and support;
- Oversee relevant project, program and service budgets, monitoring and reporting performance to meet external contracts and internal frameworks, policies and procedures
- Be an effective and collaborative member of the WIRE Leadership team. Model and foster a positive workplace culture, demonstrate the WIRE guiding principles, actively support the safety and wellbeing of WIRE staff, volunteers and service users. Play a key role in implementing the WIRE Strategic Plan and in actively sharing the responsibility for leading the organisation.

About You: This role requires a person with the ability to think strategically and oversee a wide range of projects, systems and processes, effectively lead staff and volunteers, build and maintain positive relationships will all staff and stakeholders.

- Demonstrated leadership experience managing a multi-program team and building a positive workplace culture

Key Selection Criteria
- Extensive experience working in the community sector and a demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian service systems
- Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in Social Work, Community Services or related areas
- Experience in management within the not-for
- profit sector, including in the areas of project development, service delivery, community engagement, advocacy and stakeholder management
- Demonstrated knowledge of community and service user consumer participation, including experience in client-led and peer participation model projects.
- Demonstrated experience in developing systems for effective program and project implementation.
