About the role

We're seeking an experienced Community Paramedic to lead the establishment of NRCH's Community Paramedic model, a new way of delivering accessible, preventative and community-based health care.

Based at our Community Hub, this role will be a visible and trusted first point of contact for residents, providing triage, assessment, short-term intervention and referral. You'll work flexibly across programs, including the Community Health Seniors Frailty Program and other emerging initiatives, helping people stay well and avoid unnecessary hospital visits.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your clinical expertise and leadership into a truly community-driven setting, embedding paramedicine within a multidisciplinary model that values collaboration, lived experience and culturally safe care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver primary health care within your scope of practice, with a focus on priority cohorts

• Support the design and delivery of programs such as falls prevention and ageing well initiatives

• Build and maintain trust with local residents, acting as an approachable presence in the Community Hub

• Collaborate with allied health, nursing, and community engagement teams to coordinate care

• Contribute to evaluation and continuous improvement of the Community Paramedicine model

• Provide operational and clinical leadership, mentoring early-career staff and students

About you

You're an adaptable, community-minded clinician with a passion for integrated care and equity. You thrive in multidisciplinary environments and value relationships as much as results.

You'll bring:

• AHPRA registration and relevant qualification in Paramedicine

• Current Driver's Licence

• A deep understanding of the social determinants of health

• Strong communication and engagement skills, particularly in diverse communities

Experience in community health or primary care will be highly regarded.
