Accounts Payable - Close proximity to public transport **David Company** is a recruitment company, hell bent on helping our clients find good people. We're looking for an **Accounts Payable** person to take up the baton, and run the AP functions of a privately owned company. This is a mission-critical role to the small management team which supports a big business. The management team is lean and small, the company large. The size of invoices? Huge. When the British rowing team snatched victory at the 2000 Olympics, along with a rousing cheer, they raised a few eyebrows. In professional rowing circles, they'd steadily been building on their international reputation for increasingly lacklustre performance. How the heck, in a few short years, did they lift their performance from middling to Gold Medal standard? Over the course of the preceding 2 years, they applied the question **_" Will it make the boat go faster?" _**to each and every decision made. If yes, then good, giddy up, let's do it Tick. If not, then, well, no. **_What on earth is the relationship between this Accounts Payable role, sweaty rowers, boats and the Olympics? _** Nothing. Nicht. Nil. Nada. (But we hope it makes a more interesting read than any other accounting related roles currently being advertised - and that so far, we've held your interest ) But their Modus Operandi, the focussed intent is very much in line with the "will it make the boat go faster?" philosophy. For that reason, in addition to all aspects of the Accounts Payable function, it's important you are willing and able to work across other aspects of Head Office operations. In other words, along with being good at your job, you'll also willing to lend a hand, when required This means you'd be expected to assist supporting the broader team when and as required. This might include providing administrative support to the Director and Management team, and general office duties. To be successful in the role you'll need to be: - A stickler for detail - Dead accurate in your data entry - Not phased by large-scale (really big) transactions - Secretly a little thrilled about reconciling accounts - Experienced in Accounts Payable **Additional Nitty Gritty** - Salary? **$ 85 to 90K plus super**: - Proximity to public transport - Unusually high retention indicates they're a nice bunch to work with **What to do next?** Think it sounds intriguing/terrific/just up your alley ?
