**About the Role**
As Team Leader Advising and Mentoring, you will be responsible for the smooth operational delivery of the University’s Academic Advising and Melbourne Peer Mentor Program (MPMP) within the Faculty. This involves leading a team and being responsible for delivering of a series of evolving large-scale cyclic activities that focus on connecting commencing undergraduate students with a cohort of peers and a later year peer mentor, followed by a series of meetings with a dedicated academic staff member. As a university-wide undergraduate student focused initiative, this role works closely with academic staff, Student and Scholarly Services, and with peers delivering comparable activities across all in-scope faculties. This work context allows these programs to be delivered in a way that achieves an overall consistency and quality, balanced against the local context and requirements expected in a large, comprehensive university with diverse faculty operating environments.

Responsibilities include:

- Leading a team of staff to effectively deliver the University’s Academic Advising and Peer Mentoring program in the faculty with responsibility for ensuring alignment to strategic program objectives and any locally designed aspects.
- Following and contributing to high-level annual operating cycles and detailed project plans to ensure program-wide processes for degree-based Advising and Mentoring program operations are delivered, including managing local processes for including in OneCRM and accurate data provision and quality assurance.
- Collaborating with senior academic staff and professional staff including the Student Experience Manager to ensure alignment with the Faculty’s student programs for an optimal student experience
- Deliver effective local stakeholder enquiry management using the enterprise-wide platforms (OneCRM and ServiceNow) to support academic advisers, peer mentors and students including providing timely assistance, systems support, escalation and accurate referrals to appropriate services
- Recruiting and supervising casual student interns to support student experience programs

**About You**

You will also have:

- A minimum bachelor level degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist or broad knowledge in administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Demonstrated deep functional expertise in the leadership and management of complex, strategic and governance functions within a large and complex organisation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in influencing and engaging stakeholders across the University in cross-functional activities to support student success.
- Demonstrated experience using software within a multi-team environment to optimise enquiry management, build knowledge, provide targeted communications, and undertake data analysis.
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
