Job Description

An excellent opportunity is available for a Scientific Education Program Leader to join the Scientific Education Office at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.

About the Position
The Scientific Education Program Leader will be the primary point of contact for curating and delivering academic programs at WEHI. This role will be responsible for coordinating, delivering, and growing the student education offerings at WEHI.

This role will have important links with both internal and external stakeholders, such as experts in scientific areas under development and those at neighbouring institutions. The role will also have a heavy focus on the development of new course content.

They will work closely with the Student Experience Manager to deliver the total Education offering at WEHI and be an integral member of the Education Leadership team.

Key Selection Criteria- In depth knowledge of pedagogical approaches and the ways in which these can influence how knowledge and skills are imparted in the adult education context- Passion for scientific education including the latest technology breakthroughs.- Self-motivated individual with proven ability to work independently, and on multiple initiatives concurrently- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; proven aptitude for communicating effectively with a variety of audiences- Excellent team management skills- Excellent time management, analytical and problem-solving skills- Confidentiality, discretion, sound judgement and attention to detail- Consistent demonstration of initiative; able to rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities- Able to prioritise work and meeting deadlines- PhD in Science (mandatory)- A post grad qualification in Education (preferred) or extensive operational experience in postgraduate higher education.

Terms of appointment
This position is an ongoing role in a full time capacity. Salary is Research Employee Level B-C ($114,170 - $161,255). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
