**The Role**
The APS 5 Logistics Officer is a key position to support our small team of National Product Managers.
The role is responsible to support maintenance activities and associated budgets required to maintain a select portfolio of Defence Assets and, be part of the key interfaces between the regional Joint Logistics Units, Industry Partner executive team and relevant Sustainment and Capability Managers for the relevant assets.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
- Providing advice/recommendations to entities internal or external to Defence.
- Provide administrative support to financial changes and decisions.
- Represent the Directorate as required in meetings, reviews and working groups to enhance Joint Logistics capability.
- Assist with the development of policy documents for review and publications.
Occasional domestic travel may be required
**About our Team**
The Directorate of Maintenance Services is part of Logistics Operation Branch within Joint Logistics Command. We provide logistics services to support ADF operations and exercises both domestically and internationally.
Our key function is to nationally mange the regional delivery of maintenance services, through our industry partners and a network of Joint Logistics Units across Australia.
Maintenance services are provided for a wide range of Defence's Land, Air and Marine assets, comprising all levels of activity from scheduled servicing to heavy grade repair and supporting functions, which may be conducted by the in-house industry partner or a wide network of external small to medium enterprises.
- Experience in logistics service delivery and asset management.
- Proven ability to manage priorities and meet desired outcomes.
- Ability to work both in a team environment and closely with external stakeholders through strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to assist with analytical recommendations or identify anomalies through a range of data management systems. E.g. Microsoft suite, SQL and etc.
- An understanding of Logistics supply chain, systems (incl. SAP S4 HANA & MILIS) and maintenance philosophies would be beneficial but not essential.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility and agility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of the Defence Environment.
