As the Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and support to the Financial Accounting and Accounts Payable Team. You will ensure adherence to organizational policies and values while instigating, facilitating, and implementing improvement reviews and projects across the Finance and Procurement areas. Your role will involve undertaking data analysis, problem-solving, and preparing comprehensive reports to support decision-making processes.- **Local Council Eastern Suburbs**:

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the Financial Accounting and Accounts Payable Teams, in accordance with the policies and values of the organization.
- Instigate, facilitate, support, and implement improvement reviews and projects across the Finance and Procurement areas of Council, including data analysis, problem-solving, and report preparation.
- Supervise and prepare general ledger account reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis, ensuring compliance with specified timeframes. Generate general ledger journal entries as required.
- Maintain and monitor administrative and financial systems to ensure compliance with Australian tax legislation, including Goods and Service Tax, Business Activity Statements (BAS) preparation, Fuel Tax Credits, Fringe Benefits Tax returns, and other financial returns.
- Actively contribute to a harmonious, efficient, and professional team, aligning individual actions with the objectives of the team and organization.
**To succeed in this role, you will need**
- A demonstrated track record of financial leadership and expertise in financial accounting and accounts payable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to undertake data analysis and generate insightful reports.
- Knowledge of Australian tax legislation, including GST, BAS, Fuel Tax Credits, and Fringe Benefits Tax.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to drive process improvement initiatives.
- Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting.
