National Billing & Settlements Team Leader
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to lead a team of Settlement Coordinators in our National Billing and Settlements team.
This is a full time role based in our Ringwood office. Flexible work arrangements will be considered.
In the role of National Billing & Settlements Team Leader you will be responsible for:
- Management, development and leadership of the Billing & Settlement Coordinators
- Assist in the governance of billing practices and help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all billing processes
- Ensuring the timely and accurate billing for client settlements
- Maintaining and establishing professional working relationships with the practice groups
- Corresponding and communicating with clients, statutory bodies, other legal firms and insurers regarding settlement monies and chasing outstanding debtors
- Drafting bills and finalising once matter is settled
- Ensuring all disbursements are billed minimising write offs
- Monitoring, calculating and distributing settlement monies
- Monitoring the client related monies in the Trust / General account

- Experience in the following will ensure your ongoing success in this exciting opportunity.
- Experience working with Billing & Settlements process either as a legal assistant or law clerk.
- Experience in financial billing and reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of Mattersphere and Aderant or similar legal systems.
- Strong and consultative communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities while providing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong numerical literacy.
- Problem solving and complex ledger analysis.
- A team player who has the ability to work without supervision, take initiative and maintain confidentiality.
- Competent MS Office skills.
