The Navy Strategic Committees Team Leader will work with the Director Navy Strategic Committees Secretariat to lead a team providing a range of business and information support functions to Navy senior leadership. As a team, you will facilitate and prepare Navy’s Senior Leadership Group participation and involvement in Defence Strategic Committees. You will facilitate Navy submissions to Defence committees and provide advice within Navy regarding committee processes. The Navy Strategic Committees team coordinate and act as Secretary to Navy Strategic Committees.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

Some of the key duties of this role are:

- Manage information and records management activities in accordance with relevant legislation and Defence policies and procedures.
- Provide advice and interpret policy requirements for the submission of information to Enterprise Committees.
- Manage the Navy Committees Schedule including the scheduling of committee meetings and briefings for Navy Senior Leadership.
- Act as Secretary for Navy Strategic Committees.
- Conduct compliance monitoring and reporting activities.
- Create and foster functioning networks and relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure advice to personnel and manage the priorities and needs to achieve outcomes.
- Have experience managing and controlling security classified Defence documentation and information.

**About our Team**
Working to the Director Navy Strategic Committees Secretariat, you are part of the executive team that is embedded in a dynamic environment, supporting Navy Committees and Navy involvement in Enterprise Committees. You will be part of the Navy Strategic Committees Secretariat which currently consists of five people who support Navy participation in committees.

You are accountable for a small team who have a key focus on managing information and coordinating briefings and meetings for Navy Senior Leadership, providing specialist advice & support related to Navy and Defence Enterprise committees.

To succeed in this role, applicants will be required to demonstrate:

- The ability to lead a team.
- Excellent judgement, problem solving skills and initiative.
- Excellent liaison skills.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, high performing team.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information in accordance with government security requirements.
- An understanding of Defence capability development or Defence strategic committees.
