The role
The Research Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the establishment of a research and governenance framework and facilitating the development of research capacity and capability for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professions across Queensland.
The successful person
You will have demonstrated:
Demonstrated ability to combine your lived experience as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being, doing and seeing to inform culturally safe and responsive health services, as appropriate to the role responsibilities.
High-level knowledge and understanding of the social and cultural determinants of health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, including demonstrated cultural knowledge and respect, of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures and community customs and protocols.
Demonstrate an understanding of the centrality of culture in health service delivery and research for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

The First Nations Workforce Branch is responsible for overseeing Queensland Health's First Nations Workforce Action Plan under the First Nations First Strategy. The branch is focused on developing, supporting, and growing Queensland Health's First Nations workforces across all streams, with an emphasis on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professions1
