About the Team
The Oncology Research Office provides high-quality research services to children with cancer and haematological disorders across Queensland and northern New South Wales. By conducting research of all phases with collaborative research groups, commercial sponsors and local investigators, the team helps to optimise clinical trial access to participants.
About the Role
Develop and facilitate clinical research services which include determining patient eligibility, assisting investigators with appropriate recruitment and enrolment of patients, direct clinicians with protocol-specific requirements, facilitate collection of pathology research samples, data collection and management in accordance with Therapeutic Goods Administration and the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research relating to Good Clinical Practice.
Provide input in the development of standard research practices, procedures and protocols within the Oncology Service Group at the Queensland Children's Hospital.
Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with health professionals of the Children's Health Queensland and external organisations.
Develop professional knowledge and expertise through active learning and engaging in professional development activities and contribute to the team through sharing of knowledge and expertise.
Participate in quality and service improvement activities within the Oncology Services Group.
Provide advice, education and support pertaining to routine tasks to other health professionals within and external to the unit under the supervision and after consultation with senior staff.
Provide guidance to entry level research assistants and administrative staff
Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resources management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Develop a positive culture within Division of Medicine which encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities and supports staff to maximise their health and wellbeing.
