Join Queensland Treasury as Principal Officer, RTI and Privacy in our Legal and Administrative Review Office (LARO) on a 12-month contract, that has the potential for extension. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage the right to information and privacy function for Treasury and the Treasurer and Minister for Energy and Minister for Home Ownership, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act).

In this role, you will:

- Assist in providing leadership to the RTI and Privacy Team.
- Manage privacy complaints, coordinate access requests, and liaise with legal group.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders, maintain professional relationships, and keep abreast of ongoing changes in RTI and Information Privacy.
- Manage reporting processes, including maintaining statistical information required by legislation, reporting to external agencies, and internal reporting.

What experience you will bring:

- an ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of RTI, privacy and complaints management
- a strong ability to effectively manage time and to meet statutory deadlines
- a proven track record in decision making responsibility and judgement about when to escalate
- strong written skillset applicable to developing frameworks, policies, procedures, correspondence and decisions
- strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate, to effectively manage matters with others bullet points from the success criteria

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
