About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to join our Maritime Sustainment Program based at Osborne, South Australia reporting to the Program Lead
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for define and implement the Supply Chain Strategy within the broader Maritime Sustainment team to support materials and equipment delivery. This is a critical role that will develop and deploy the appropriate strategy, enabling a cost effective and continuous logistic solution for the Program.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Align the Supply Chain Planning strategy with the wider DDG CLCM, DDG SPO, CSI-IPT and DCE Program Supply Chain objectives
- Partnering with Program Leads across programs to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions
- Management of supply plans for all contracted Direct Suppliers for the program
- Collaborate with Contract Managers and suppliers to manage the impacts of change (schedule and design) on material supply schedules and material deliveries
- Manage expediting activities to ensure material availability is in line with the Quarterly Look ahead Plan and reduces risk associated with loss and damage
- Development and leadership of the Program supply chain teams, including ensuring optimal
- resourcing and personal development is achieved
- Identify, manage and mitigate any Supply Chain risks
- Establish relevant Supply Chain Planning and Optimisation KPI's to drive performance and best for business working practices
- Provide leadership for supply chain engagement activities including, but not limited to supporting tenders and requests for proposal, supplier negotiations and contract development and execution
- Control Account Manager for the Supply Chain Planning budget including delivery of reporting to programmes
- Drive cost and lessons learned initiatives to improve the performance and efficiency of the Supply Chain Planning service and realise identified opportunities
- Influence both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring sound advice is provided on Supply Chain arrangements and working practice requirements to enable delivery of contract
- Resolution of any internal / external conflicts in a timely and professional manner, ensuring that warehouse requirements are supportive of availability and project / change timescales
- Builds and maintains strong professional, trusted relationships with management, peers and team
- Work with DDG SPO, MIWS, and CSI-IPT stakeholders to advance and implement re-use and disposal plans for AEGIS and standard equipment
- Support Production in the Osborne Naval Shipyard by staffing the integrated work teams (IWT's) to prioritise material delivery
- Recruit and deploy effective Warehouse and Logistics team to support CoA offsite warehouse, on-site cross dock and in yard material handling.
