**The Role**

Are you passionate about plain English?
Do you have a growth mindset and an inquiring mind?

We’re looking for content designers now and in the future as we seek to make pay and conditions information more accessible for Defence employees on the Defence intranet.

You’ll play a critical role in shaping the how Defence communicates information about APS pay and conditions to employees.

You’ll join our multidisciplinary team working in agile to:

- Research user needs.
- Design, develop and iterate content.
- Make information easier for users to find and understand.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the transformation of APS pay and conditions information.

You’ll work with a motivated, fun and supportive team to deliver positive outcomes.

**About our Team**

The team is responsible for implementing ADF and APS pay and conditions through legislative instruments (determinations) and also transforming this information into plain English content which users can understand and action.

We sit in the area of Defence responsible for delivering people policy and employment and service conditions for Defence APS employees and members of the ADF.

We value curiosity and ideas, and you’ll be supported to devise solutions to problems and challenge thinking. The team is self-directed and inclusive.

We use agile ways of working to achieve outcomes and remote working tools to collaborate with our team members across the country.

As a multi-disciplinary team, the contribution of all team members ensures our success.

We’re based in Canberra, but the role can be performed anywhere around the country.

You’re self-motivated, with a passion for content design and have a learner’s mindset.

To be successful, you’ll need:

- Experience turning complex ideas into easy-to-understand content for the web.
- Commitment to user-centred design.
- A track record of successful stakeholder engagement.
- Experience using online collaboration tools.
