**About the team**

The People Branch is responsible for centralised human resource services to the FWO. They develop and implement a range of people strategies across the agency that drive high performance, and make FWO an inclusive and attractive place to work.

The workforce capability function is a section within the People branch that is responsible for the establishment of strategies and outcomes that support the ongoing development of competence and skill across the agency to enable the delivery of its operational requirements. Building workforce capability is not just about training and learning, it requires a holistic and integrated approach across the employee lifecycle to ensure the workforce is capable of delivering its requirements today and into the future.

**About the role**

The Learning and Development Officer will consult to conceptualise and devise contemporary learning solutions that support the strategic vision of the Agency and meet business needs.

You will work in partnership with the Instructional Designer and other colleagues to create responsive, innovative learning solutions that are engaging, accessible and meet the objectives articulated by relevant stakeholders. You will create a variety of learning and development resources that support capability development.

Your experience as a Learning and Development professional and a sound knowledge of leadership, organisational development and workforce capability development will provide valuable insight into the best approach for the Agency.

**Accountabilities and responsibilities**
- Work in collaboration with the Agency to identify learning and development needs, and devise innovative learning solutions, including specialised strategies and programs to support capability development.
- Work closely with colleagues to design, develop and implement contemporary online and face to face course content for internal audiences.
- Work across teams to develop learning programs and resources that are inclusive and accessible, and encourage a a positive culture of continuous learning.
- Lead the facilitation of training sessions in partnership with Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders to ensure an optimal experience for participants.
- Analyse available data to evaluate program effectiveness, identify trends and inform future learning activities.
- Curate learning content from external sources such as LinkedIn Learning.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships to enable collaboration, and ensure solutions driven by the capability team are contributing to the branch’s vision for capability development.

**Selection Criteria**
- You will be comfortable working in a complex environment, and have the skills and capability to engage with stakeholders to identify priority learning needs and opportunities for improvement.
- Proven knowledge and experience in contemporary learning and development design methodologies, and a sound knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Ability to maintain and improve existing learning content and materials; leading the quality assurance of agency learning programs.
- Experience developing and delivering organisation wide initiatives and activities to support capability development utilising strong face to face and virtual facilitation skills.

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly desirable.
