**The Role**
Are you experienced in digital service design?
Do you have a passion for improving services for government?

We’re looking for a service designer as we seek to make pay and conditions information more accessible for Defence employees on the Defence intranet.

You’ll play a critical role in shaping the how Defence communicates information about APS pay and conditions to employees.

You’ll join our multidisciplinary team working in agile to:

- Drive research to guide and advise the team on key design principles and best practice for our service to meet user needs.
- Lead the team in design decisions and collaborative workshops including service mapping, ideation sessions and storyboarding solutions.
- Lead user research and testing activities, then analyse key findings, identify trends and oversee the implementation of changes.
- Review content to ensure it’s user-centred and meets web and accessibility standards.

**About our Team**
The team is responsible for implementing ADF and APS pay and conditions through legislative instruments (determinations) and also transforming this information into plain English content which users can understand and action.

We sit in the area of Defence responsible for delivering people policy and employment and service conditions for Defence APS employees and members of the ADF.

We value curiosity and ideas, and you’ll be supported to devise solutions to problems and challenge thinking. The team is self-directed and inclusive.

We use agile ways of working to achieve outcomes and remote working tools to collaborate with our team members across the country.

As a multi-disciplinary team, the contribution of all team members ensures our success.

We’re based in Canberra, but the role can be performed anywhere around the country.

You’re an enthusiastic individual with experience working in an agile environment.

To be successful, you’ll need demonstrated experience:

- Conducting research or testing with users.
- Analysing research findings and using them to implement changes.
- Collaborating within the team and with stakeholders.
