Destec is a proudly Western Australian owned and operated company with a fast-growing client base that provides ore processing and materials handling services to the mining industry across Western Australia.

We take pride in innovation through designing, constructing, building, maintaining and operating our own crushing and screening plants for Tier 1 mining sites.

**The Role**
We are currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated **SEQ&T Advisor** to join our dynamic team. As an SEQ&T Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as implementing best practices across our organization.

This role will be supporting our General Manager SEQ&T, working across both our two iron ore mining projects, on a 8 days on 6 days off roster.

**In this role you will be responsible for but not limited to**:

- Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in HSE regulations, and ensure compliance across all operations.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement by promoting HSE initiatives and campaigns.
- Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety
- Cert IV in Training & Assessing (Highly Desirable)
- Proven experience as an HSE Advisor or similar role, preferably in mining industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio)
- Ability to create relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug & alcohol screen
- Hold a current and valid driver’s licence

**Desirable qualifications include**:

- Experience with STEMS, or similar online safety management platform
- Provide First Aid Certification
- Formal auditing qualification
- Confined space entry & Gas testing atmospheres
- Working at Heights
