We have many years of experience connecting generation to customers, with projects ranging from OE roles, lenders technical advisors to detailed substation and transmission and design services.

**The Opportunity**

We’re excited to build the Networks team in Australia to support the energy transition locally, and globally. We are seeking High Voltage Substation Designer to establish and foster long-term positive client relationships with our Australian and broader APNA energy clients, with a focus on Transmission and Distribution (T&D) projects. The role can be based in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.

The focus of your role will be to provide T&D services to our Networks, Renewables, Hydro, Mining & Industry, and Energy Advisory market sectors. You will be involved in a range of delivery functions including Owners Engineer, Concept Design and FEED, working collaboratively with our leaders to bring the right mix of resources to deliver excellence for our clients. As a senior member of the team, you will have focused on improving project outcomes for both your clients and our projects. You will have the opportunity to:

- Mentor Trainee Designers and overseas Team Members.
- Travel to site nationally and internationally for data collection and mentoring.
- Independently perform complex designs for Primary Plant for different clients on multiple projects in 2D and 3D, material take offs, footings and structural steel detail design documents with mínimal supervision.
- Conduct data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support project requirements.
- Prepare concept, detailed designs, support proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in project meetings to discuss progress and technical challenges.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide mentorship to junior designers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies in all engineering tasks.
- Lead initiatives in improvement of project execution processes, methodologies and task automation.
- Lead small project teams and coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success.

**About You**
- Electrical Design Engineering or a related field with experience in Industrial and HV Design in Primary.
- HV Secondary experience is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCad, Microstation Revit etc).
- Strong knowledge of Primary Plant principles, equipment, and protection schemes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities, with experience mentoring junior Designers.
- Able to support proposal estimation of hours and support in proposal writing
