Join a large Federal Government Department as IT Product Manager

Please Note: This is a Canberra based role, with full time (5 days) in office requirement.

This large scale, centrally located Federal Government client is a core element of Australia's Public Service and the Commonwealth economy. This position sits in a key branch, looking after a vital and highly complex IT system, central to the operation of Australia's Education sector.

**Your new role**

Working as part of the leadership team for the system enhancement project, you will work closely with the two Product Owners in ensuring the delivery team meets the needs of current system users and future policy changes. You will be reporting to one of the Product Owners, and working across business and development teams in an agile and multidisciplinary manner to:

- Champion user needs in the project through close engagement with the Product Owners, and support communication of these with the delivery teams.
- Gain a sound understanding of current system [through close engagement with the project team].
- Promote business continuity by supporting business teams to perform administrative functions in the current system.
- Support the Product Owners with user acceptance activities for the project.

**What you'll need to succeed**

Strong technical skills with a proven ability to translate stakeholder and business needs and champion these users’ requirements in an agile environment, including experience using azure DevOps.

Proven experience working closely with business in digital projects, including willingness to perform hands-on system tasks and ability to train end-users.

Experience working on redevelopment of complex systems with relational datasets that are underpinned by policy.

Demonstrated facilitation and stakeholder management skills, including strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Highly Desirable: Experience with a VET sector IT system, e.g. student management software.
