Settlement Services International (SSI Group) is a community-based organisation and social business that supports newcomers and Australians to achieve their full potential. Taking an integrated approach how everyone can thrive within the community in which they live and the wider Australian society, we support children, young people and families; people living with disability; and asylum seekers, refugees and migrants. Our programs include facilitating employment, multicultural foster care, creating community engagement, advocacy, and influencing government and international affairs and provide though leadership within our sector nationally and globally.
Are you a passionate advocate for workplace well-being with a knack for navigating the world of injury management? We're on the hunt for a proactive Injury Management Coordinator to join our People & Culture team in a rewarding part-time role (3 days a week)
About the Role
This isn't just about managing paperwork; it's about making a real difference in people's lives As our Injury Management Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of coordinating effective workplace injury and illness management, from early intervention right through to successful return-to-work programs. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting our team members through their recovery, helping them stay engaged and thrive, while also minimising the impact on our organization.
We're looking for someone who can help us elevate our injury management approach. While our People & Culture team drives our WHS space, we're ready to move beyond reactive measures. You'll have the exciting opportunity to build and refine our current processes, potentially moving us from manual systems to something more streamlined - if you love creating and building, this is for you
**Here's a snapshot of what you'll be doing**:
- Holistic Coordination: Oversee all aspects of injury management, including early intervention, crafting suitable duties plans, and implementing comprehensive return-to-work programs.
- Key Liaison: Be the vital link between injured workers, their treating practitioners, managers, insurers, and rehabilitation providers.
- Compliance & Care: Ensure all workers' compensation claims are managed perfectly in line with legislation and company policy, with timely lodgement and accurate documentation.
- Proactive Return to Work: Drive early and proactive return-to-work interventions to reduce lost time and boost successful returns to pre-injury duties.
- Claims Management: Lead regular claims review processes and jump into case conferences when needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Constantly review and refine our claims management approach and processes, working hand-in-hand with the WHS Manager.
- Resource Building: Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of suitable duties to support recovery-at-work, as well as onboarding for individuals with reasonable adjustments or disabilities.
- Capability Building: Help our leaders grow their skills in managing recovery-at-work for staff with both work-related and non-work-related injuries, illnesses, or reasonable adjustment needs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with insurers, brokers, and regulators to achieve efficient and appropriate claim outcomes, including for historic claims.
- Trauma-Informed Care: Support psychosocial injury claims management with compassionate, trauma-informed, and best-practice approaches.
About You
You're a compassionate and organised professional with a genuine desire to support people through challenging times. You're keen to take ownership, drive improvements, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
**Here’s what we’re looking for**:
- Qualifications: You'll have formal qualifications in Rehabilitation and Recovery at Work. Relevant qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, or WHS are a big plus
- Legislative Know-How: Strong knowledge of NSW Workers' Compensation legislation and injury management practices is essential, and experience with VIC & QLD legislation is desirable.
- Hands-On Experience: Practical experience managing both physical and psychosocial claims is key.
- Exceptional Communicator: You possess high-level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage compassionately and professionally with everyone.
- Organised & Adaptable: You have strong organizational and administrative skills, able to juggle competing priorities with ease.
- Care-Focused Approach: You're approachable, with a strong focus on care, recovery, and compliance.
- Tech Savvy: You're proficient with reporting and claims systems (or eager to learn them, like icare or Allianz portals) and have strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. You'll be comfortable working with and building systems as we grow
If you're ready to step into a role where your expertise directly contributes to a safer, more supportive, and compliant workplace, we'd love to hear from you
