- A volunteer with our Community Visitors Scheme provides companionship and friendship to a resident at one of our local Aged Care facilities within The Hills and Parramatta areas. Volunteers with Community Visitors Scheme are matched to a resident according to their shared interests, cultural backgrounds and location.
- Please provide information here about this volunteer role:
- Time commitment - 1 hour per fortnight
- Role tasks/requirements:
. Visit to meet individual residents as directed by CVS Coordinator
- Undertake activities that are appropriate to the resident. This may include listening to music together, playing cards or board games or simply having a chat over a cup of coffee
- Preferred qualifications/skills/experience as required:
. Demonstrated empathy with community members and older people
- Experience working as part of a team environment is highly regarded
- You can download and edit the Role Profiles ready for sharing with the Volunteer prior to starting
- Keep a signed copy for yourself on file and hand a copy to the Volunteer for their record also.
- The signed copy can be updated to Salvos Workday records to save storing the paper.
