The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Directors, the Finance Manager will be involved in V-DAQ's end-to-end financial operations, from day-to-day administration to strategic financial projects. The ideal candidate will be capable of growing with V-DAQ to meet its expanding needs and ambitions but with a core focus on delivering on the fundamentals. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic environment and aims to deliver the highest quality work.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage bookkeeping, reconciliations, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
  • Manage tax compliance obligations, including BAS, PAYG, and related lodgements
  • Lead End of Financial Year (EOFY) procedures and audit preparation
  • Manage payroll and superannuation compliance
  • Support and deliver internal financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Support grants and government incentive applications and compliance, in collaboration with external grant specialists
  • Manage procurement policies and supplier/vendor processes
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial systems and processes
  • Lead financial projects and initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or CA preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience across accounting, internal finance, or finance management roles
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Australian financial law and compliance
  • Experienced in financial software and tools
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
  • Desired: Experience working in scaling organisations
  • Desired: Experience working in an engineering, technology or scientific industry/company
