**About the role**

This role will provide infants aged 0 to 5 years and their families with therapeutic interventions to enhance social and emotional development that will reduce mental health and developmental challenges in later childhood and adulthood. The Infant Mental Health Case Worker will provide early intervention, psychoeducation, referral, and outreach support that is trauma informed, culturally appropriate and person-centered. The role is responsible for the delivery of community engagement through playgroup activities.

**About you**

We are seeking someone who is looking for a position that is meaningful and brings the opportunity to make a significant positive impact. With an in-depth understanding of the importance of networks you will have an ability to create supportive communities for young people. You will bring flexibility, initiative and an understanding of evidence-based models that support children and their families. Your key experience will include:

- Tertiary Degree in relevant Human Services field or extensive experience in providing mental health and therapeutic community interventions to infants and children.
- Understanding of evidence-based service models for working with infants, children and families
- Experience working with children, young people and families at risk or experiencing a mental health concern
- Knowledge of issues presented by homeless youth, those at risk of homelessness and their families
- Experience in case work practice within the community sector
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations are preferred but not required
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
