About CentrecareCentrecare is a not-for-profit organisation committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, family violence support, mediation, and justice programs.About the roleIn partnership with Waalitj Foundation, Centrecare will provide culturally and developmentally appropriate psychosocial, family, peer, and other support services to at-risk children, young people, and their families who face mental health challenges and offending behaviors.
The goal is to reduce reoffending risks related to mental illness through collaboration with other service providers, including the Child Adolescent Forensic Service (CAFS).
Position SummaryWe seek a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Case Worker to support children, young people, and their families working with CAFS, either in the community or at Banksia Hill Detention Centre.
The role involves providing social, emotional, cultural, and mental health support via a case management approach.
The position is based in East Perth.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide social, emotional, and mental health care to children, young people, and families involved with CAFS.Offer cultural liaison and family engagement, including cultural interpretations to CAFS teams where relevant.Work within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to mental health assessments and interventions.Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and reports in line with organisational policies.What we are looking forRecognised tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Social Sciences, Aboriginal Studies, or related fields.
Experience in mental health and youth services is desirable.Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.Ability to work full-time.Understanding of strength-based approaches.Current Federal Police Clearance and Working with Children Card.Valid WA driver's license and access to a vehicle.What's on offerCompetitive salary package.Salary packaging options up to $15,900.Access to health cover via Bupa and Medibank Private.Annual leave loading at 17.5%.
