**About the role

The Advanced Health Worker, Maternal and Infant role functions within a multi-disciplinary team to promote and deliver efficient, effective, clinically relevant and culturally appropriate patient outcomes for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families within the Jaghu Program. This role will also provide information and resources that enhances the ability of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients to make appropriate health care choices and navigate through the health care system.

About you

Proven ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples (including patients, carers and communities) within a health-related context and having a clear understanding of contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols and health related procedures.
Proven ability to communicate with individuals sensitively and appropriately from diverse cultural backgrounds while advocating on behalf of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Proven ability to exercise accountability and responsibility to ensure quality systems capture both patient specific and relevant statistical data, inclusive of collection, collation and reporting towards improving Indigenous Health outcomes.

Mandatory Requirements:
Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
Appointment, and future increment progression between pay points HWF3.1 to HWF3.5 requires: Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
Progression between pay points HWF3.2 to HWF3.7, or HWF3.8 (limited to employees who meet the requirements of HED 04/23) requires: Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
