Council is currently recruiting for a Coordinator Emergency Management & Business Continuity within the People & Corporate Performance group. Collaborating closely with the Executive team, across Council, emergency management agencies and community you will coordinate Council’s emergency management and business continuity functions to ensure our community is prepared for emergencies and resilient to their impacts.

**About this opportunity**

Working collaboratively with senior leadership, emergency service agencies and community you will play a key role in strengthening Council’s emergency management preparedness, response and recovery capabilities and business continuity.

Your focus will be on driving best practice and quality outcomes in:

- emergency management planning including scenario testing, the preparation of procedures and the delivery of training
- Council’s emergency management response and recovery in collaboration across Council and with emergency service agencies and community
- business continuity planning, testing and implementation, working collaboratively across Council.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Substantial experience in emergency management, business continuity and risk management, with a preference for experience in a municipal context.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and inform diverse groups.
- Demonstrated capability to work autonomously and manage high-pressure situations with competing deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong professional networks.
- Relevant tertiary education in Emergency Management or a related discipline.
