**Description**:
A rewarding position as a Program Manager, Cultural Fire is currently available at TLaWC.

This role will oversee the development and implementation of a Taungurung Cultural Fire Program that restores Taungurung Cultural Fire Knowledge and reinvigorates Cultural Fire Practice on Country.

This is an opportunity to apply, monitor and adapt fire practice while leading and supporting Taungurung people in caring for Country.

Status: Full time, 4-year contract with possible extension dependent on funding

Location: Alexandra, with flexibility to work from home

**Duties**:
Lead the development of a Taungurung Cultural Fire Strategic Plan.

Form a Taungurung Cultural Fire Knowledge Group to support the reactivation of Taungurung Cultural Fire Knowledge and Practice.

Lead implementation of the Taungurung Cultural Fire Program and be a key contact point at TLaWC for State Land and Fire Management agencies and partners, including Private Land holders.

Establish opportunities for Taungurung people to heal, apply, monitor and adapt fire practice that gives effect to cultural objectives and to heal Country, in collaboration with Biik Environmental (TLaWC’s cultural and natural resource management service provider).

Work in partnership with Biik Environmental to develop and implement fire management plans for Taungurung owned properties, and work in partnership with State land and fire managers to develop fire management plans on Public Land.

Collaborate with Biik Environmental to develop a Cultural Fire service offer and establish partnerships for participation of Taungurung fire crews in wildfire emergency management and planned burns.

Coordinate and engage with other Nations and the State in program implementation, learning and future policy development.

Establish Cultural Fire and related research partnerships including monitoring programs to determine the effects of Cultural Fire practice
