The opportunity:
The AIA Health team are currently sourcing a Head of Product and Pricing to join their team in Melbourne. The successful incumbent will lead and set the strategic direction for the Product and Pricing team for AIA Health. Furthermore, you will work collaboratively with AIA Vitality, AIA Retail and Group business to bring the Life, Health & Wellbeing proposition to life.
To do this successfully you will:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing robust analysis, intellectual thought leadership, accurate forecasting and developing improved business capability
- Design, Develop, Enhance and communicate the product strategy across Health, AIA Health and AIA Distribution teams and AIA Vitality, for new business and in force
- Identify new market opportunities, lead development of new product propositions to enter new markets (ie Corporate PHI, International Health Cover)
- Maintain a strong focus on product innovation, leveraging integration with AIA Vitality to drive behavioural outcomes, improved claims experience and lapses
- Manage the performance of the in-force and new business products to achieve key business goals (i.e. gross margin, retention)
- Lead the product team to design and position new products and enhance existing products ensuring the design is consistent with AIA philosophy including:
- Customer led
- Innovatively enhance current benefit designs for key strategic clients
- Focus on sustainability (through sensible risk assessments of product terms) to improve claims experience and support business growth
- Collaborate with the Distribution teams, Health Leadership teams and appointed actuary to prepare & present product changes to internal stakeholders and key strategic clients
- Strike the right balance between competitive product offerings and potential risks
- Ensuring all regulatory requirements are met
- Experience working within a senior leadership role in the life or health insurance industry
- Tertiary or Postgraduate qualifications in business discipline or similar
- An excellent understanding of the key drivers of health insurance businesses, and of wellness offerings in Australia Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong leadership experience
- Exceptional negotiation, communication and relationship building skills
- The ability to recognise, analyses and solve problems.
