The role Reporting to the Manager, you will be responsible for progressing legislative policy projects on a wide range of policy and operational issues which impact on legislation under development or currently administered by Queensland Health. You will manage several projects or participate as a team member in projects to develop and amend Health legislation and undertake legislative policy reviews covering a wide range of health-related issues. In addition, you will prepare briefing notes, ministerial communications, reports, submissions and correspondence for the Director and Senior Director as required.
The successful personTo be considered for this role, you will demonstrate experience in managing primary and subordinate legislation projects or strong policy development or legal skills within a complex service delivery environment. You will have proven skills in researching and analysing policy issues of a complex nature and providing high quality and timely advice to management in relation to those issues. You will be familiar with, or able to quickly gain knowledge of, the parliamentary and cabinet process and demonstrate experience in researching and preparing reports, discussion papers and submissions. You will demonstrate strong project management ability working on complex time-critical projects. Further, you will demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across all levels of an organisation.
