This new market entrant develops, finances, owns and operates utility-scale renewable assets across the globe and remains the world’s leading provider of turnkey hydrogen and fuel cell solutions for the global green hydrogen economy.
The Corporate Development team plays a critical role in the strategic growth agenda and in developing innovative ideas to drive overall business performance. As a key member of the Corporate Development Group you would be responsible for helping to develop, appraise and execute growth opportunities by leading acquisitions, developments, asset sales, project financing and venture investments.
**Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to develop storage strategy and implement solutions to meet utility scale hybrid and standalone storage projects
- Lead regional market strategy formulation and implementation for stand-alone and hybrid storage
- Contribute to analytical tool development and optimisation of storage related revenues
- Inform site selection and greenfield development within select regional markets
- Support project development teams in the advancement of hybrid and standalone storage projects
- Oversee creation and refinement of valuation models for acquisitions, divestments and new business initiatives
- Ensure the company pursues the best available opportunities assessed on strategic fit, value creation and risk by assessing opportunities for alignment with overall strategy, undertaking valuation and risk assessment as appropriate, prepare investment proposals and implementing selected growth opportunities
- Plan and execute due diligence on valuation and acquisition of storage/solar assets.
- Negotiation of a diverse range of transactions and associated documentation
- Prepare management and board papers and presentations covering acquisitions, divestments and new business initiatives
- Undertake specific projects to support the Executive Leadership Team
- Deliver thought leadership and the sharing of collective knowledge and experience through actively sharing knowledge during the execution of all aspects of corporate development work including disseminating knowledge through structured workshops
**Qualifications & Expertise**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- 5 + years’ experience in storage project development and storage/renewables strategy with a proven capability to understand technical products and firm understanding of energy markets
- Experience with utilities, Independent power producers (IPPs), EPCs, developers, and integrators;
- Solid understanding and ability to defend battery revenue streams and valuation
- Experience signing and negotiating PPA offtake agreements that include a substantial storage component
- Strong commercial experience in transaction execution, valuation and due diligence
- Proven commercial and negotiation skills, supported by a strong commercial skill set
- Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills
- Credibility and confidence to interact effectively with a wide range of senior people inside and outside of the organisation
