**About the Role...**

Emerging technologies in the fleet sector is forcing organisations to make changes in how they deliver services. The City of Playford is taking action to transition to a more sustainable fleet in-line with government legislation. To deliver on these opportunities we are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager who will:

- Provide management oversight dealing with fleet operational tasks ensuring technical effectiveness and efficiency through programs that deliver quality maintenance and repairs regimes.
- Deliver technical advice / recommendations on changing trends (+5 Years) within the fleet industry, this includes adapting workforce (training / equipment) to cater for any future changing demands.
- Have demonstrated ability to provide technical advice to major fleet problems to ensure optimum service delivery to customer.
- Own and lead corporate wide transformation programs in driving proactive and innovative solutions to implement best practices for plant and equipment replacement.
- Develop best practice strategies for maximising return on investment (ROI) for disposal of plant and equipment through either auction houses or dealer trade.

In this exciting ongoing opportunity, you will lead a team of Five (5) qualified Automotive Technicians and (1) Apprentice who are responsible for the operational service and maintenance of Council’s Fleet which includes Vehicles, Plant, Machinery and Equipment.

You will hold formal qualifications in automotive (trade qualified) together with tertiary qualifications in fleet management, and leadership or demonstrated equivalent experience.

- Experience in fleet operational management with an ability to deliver excellent customer focused outcomes whilst balancing commitments to internal policies, business improvement and efficiencies.
- Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills and ability to work productively, respectfully and sensitively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed communication skills including presenting quality information to a range of audiences and stakeholders.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills with a proven track record in managing complex issues involving a broad range of stakeholders with different priorities and issues.
- Well-developed organisational skills and ability to set priorities, manage tasks under pressure and within tight timeframes.
