The Appliance Guys has been a leading Australian appliance retailer since 2011, specialising in the sale of appliances, brown goods, cooking appliances, small appliances, air conditioners, hot water systems, and consumer electronics including audio & visual products. With a strong commitment to delivering quality products and excellent customer service, we are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team and play a crucial role in managing our supply chain operations.
As the Purchasing Manager at The Appliance Guys, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement and supply chain functions to ensure that our inventory is well-managed, suppliers are effectively engaged, and pricing strategies are optimized. You will be instrumental in maintaining strong supplier relationships, maintaining supply agreements, and ensuring seamless inventory management to meet customer demand. Your role will encompass a range of tasks, including but not limited to:
**Supply Agreements**: Negotiate, develop, and manage supplier agreements, ensuring the best terms and conditions for the company, and fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with suppliers.
**Managing Supplier Relationships**: Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, including regular communication, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations.
**Pricing Management**: Monitor market trends, analyze pricing strategies, and develop pricing models to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
**Inventory Management**: Oversee inventory levels, ensure optimal stock levels, manage product lifecycles, and minimize excess or obsolete inventory.
**Demand Planning**: Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to forecast demand accurately, aligning procurement efforts with customer demand patterns.
**Supplier Claims**: Manage and resolve supplier claims efficiently, ensuring a fair resolution that aligns with company policies and objectives.
**Vendor Evaluation**: Continuously assess the performance and capabilities of suppliers, seeking opportunities for improvement and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
**Cost Control**: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-effective strategies in the procurement process.
**Qualifications Required**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a similar role, within the retail industry, with a strong understanding of the Australian appliance market.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Google Workspace.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the organisation.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Professional certification in supply chain management or related field.
- Experience in Managing a team.
**Salary Package**:
- $150,000 per annum (package is negotiable based on experience)
