Shipping/Purchasing Import Coordinator

This privately owned Australian business, is seeking a Shipping/Purchasing Import Coordinator to join the team at our Sydney Head Office in Turrella.

This highly successful and established company is a leading importer and distributor of building façade products, sintered stone, graphics media, performance fabrics, and decorative building products. With over 180 dedicated staff and 40,000 square metres of factory, warehouse, and office space across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, they are committed to delivering quality and service to their clients.

What you will do

Reporting to the Shipping Manager, this full-time position operates in a multi-company environment and offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to our success. Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing supplier payments (domestic and overseas).
  • Communicating with suppliers.
  • Managing purchase orders and supplier confirmations.
  • Checking proforma invoices and import shipping documentation.
  • Processing and reconciling a high volume of invoices.
  • Receipting goods into the inventory system.
  • Liaising with internal departments and product managers.
  • Supporting the Accounts Payable function.
  • Providing general administrative support.

About you

We are seeking a team player to be part of the Finance team and be experienced in shipping and import documentation and in addition:

  • At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable and shipping roles.
  • A solid understanding of import procedures.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under deadlines.
  • Previous experience with the "Greentree" accounting system (highly regarded).
