**About the Opportunity**

This Communications and Engagement Manager is responsible for leading the Communications, Engagement and Events functions on behalf of this community first NFP. Reporting directly to the CCO, this position is critical in ensuring the development and delivery of integrated communications, community engagement programs, campaigns, and initiatives to continually understand and communicate the customer needs.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop annual strategic plan and associated resourcing needs.
- Continually balance and review strategic (internal & external) communications channels (public relations, media, social media, internal and external communications, etc.) to ensure alignment with, and enhancement of the organisation’s brand.
- Develop and implement a strategic engagement roadmap that includes engagement of key stakeholders (both internal and external).
- Prioritise, collate, and understand customer insights through proactive engagement strategies - be a customer insights champion
- Undertaking engagement (and communications) activities to consult (and involve) the community regarding enhancing community service provision and understanding emerging customer needs.
- Oversee the development of an ongoing events plan, continually reviewing and refining events, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives
- Lead, guide and nurture a team of communications, engagement and event professionals, ensuring their ongoing development.
**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
- High level of experience in strategic and innovative communication and stakeholder engagement, and superior understanding of communication methodologies.
- Demonstrated, experience in community engagement with proven ability to prepare and implement community focused strategies
- Strong Stakeholder Management skills - ability to communicate, engage and cultivate relationships with other teams and at senior/ELT levels of the business.
- Experience managing, developing, and nurturing teams.
- Innovative mindset and ability to constantly challenge the status quo.
