APS5 Data Analyst / SAS / Terra data / SQL / Python / Long Term Contract

Hays Technology in Geelong are currently partnered with a Federal Government organisation located in Richmond CBD, Victoria.

We are seeking to appoint APS5 Data Analyst on 12 months contract role with a view of extension.
**This role is open only to people with disability**. This will be a hybrid role working from home and Geelong office location.

**Your new role**

Reporting to Director - Detection Analytics, Working across Audit and Risk Division, In this role you will be responsible to undertake technical and analysis activities and tasks using available information where options are not always evident. You will also be required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation

**Key accountabilities**:

- Extracting and producing a range of data, statistics and reports using Statistical Analysis System (SAS).
- Interpreting data for operational information and reporting purposes and submit change requests when required.
- Preparing consistent, accurate and timely scheduled and adhoc data requests.
- Assisting in the delivery of projects, performing basic research and analysis.
- Supporting detection profile development including requirements, design, testing, training, and rollout.
- Identifying opportunities for automation of frequently repeated tasks.
- Providing additional administrative support for the section when required.
- Other duties as required

**What you'll need to succeed**

To be considered for this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in Data / BI Reporting role in the financial or government sector is highly desirable.
- Experience with data preparation and analysis
- Experience using SAS, Teradata, SQL, or other data analysis tools
- Qualification in SAS, Teradata &/or Python.
- Experience in tool development or automation Python, VBA.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
