The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Data Analyst to provide a critical role within Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS)

**About the Business Unit**

The FAS is highly anticipated by victims and stakeholders and represents a major leap forward in the Victorian Government's response to victims of crime. Established under the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance Scheme) Act 2022 (the Act) the FAS will provide financial assistance through a simple and easy to navigate process that is fair, sensitive, and responsive to victims' needs. It will acknowledge harm done and be trauma informed, inclusive and culturally safe.

**About the Role**

As the Data Analyst, reporting to the Director - Operations, you will be responsible for analysing FAS data to assess organisational performance, developing effective reporting systems, and providing insights to FAS senior leaders.

Some of your duties will include:

- **Conduct comprehensive analyses of FAS data to evaluate organizational performance against established outcomes, translating complex data into actionable insights that support informed decision-making.**:

- **Design and manage reporting systems that provide FAS senior leaders with clear and relevant information on performance metrics, ensuring alignment with the FAS outcomes framework.**:

- **Play a critical role in preparing for the upcoming FAS review by ensuring data integrity and thoroughness in reporting, thereby contributing to a transparent evaluation of FAS effectiveness over the review period.**

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:
**Technical expertise**
- Proficient in performing comprehensive analyses of currently available data, utilising statistical techniques and tools to derive actionable insights that inform decision-making and strategic planning. Experience working with Salesforce would be advantageous in managing and analysing data.
- Experience in the interpretation, presentation and communication of quantitative data to a range of audiences.
- Experience in working effectively in team environments and working across agencies to deliver results
- Experience in preparing written briefings and research reports for a range of audiences.

**Qualifications**
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline including proficiency in data analysis tools, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an understanding of data privacy regulations and victim-centred practices is highly desirable.
