**About the role**

The role of Design Manager is to execute the responsibilities of Design Manager in accordance with the Quality Management System and particularly the following key responsibilities and accountabilities outlined below.
- Provide leadership, direction, supervision and inspirational management to all team members (direct & indirect).
- Prepare and maintain the Design Plan for the duration of the project while ensuring that the design conforms to all safety, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operating requirements,
- Ensure that all necessary reviews, verifications and validations are planned and conducted, and the outcomes of these are incorporated into the design,
- Monitor and control design costs within budget and liaise with the Project Manager in relation to any design changes,
- Monitor external design consultants to ensure that the elements of their design (including verification) are coordinated with overall design, procurement and construction requirements

**About You**
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in an Engineering, Commercial or Project Management discipline;
- Substantial project leadership experience (Minimum of 10 years) in a major project in infrastructure with an excellent understanding and knowledge of project management principles and practices;
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
- Experience with electrical and mechanical design fundamentals at a detailed level.
