This is a part-time role (FTE 0.8)
**Who are we?**
Life Saving Victoria is Victoria's peak water safety and lifesaving organisation and is committed to its mission to prevent aquatic related death and injury across all Victorian communities. LSV is a recognised agency of Emergency Management Victoria and provides emergency response services across the state through its vast network of lifesaving clubs, lifeguards, marine and aerial rescue services. LSV is a Registered Training Organisation and a charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
**How will this position contribute to Life Saving Victoria’s mission?**
The People area brings together both the staff and volunteer members encompassing human resources, welfare and development, overseeing programs that encourage excellence, leadership, diversity, inclusion and pathway development.
Reporting to the General Manager - People, the HR Manager will lead a small but dynamic human resource team. You will partner with the business to oversee all aspects of the HR department, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and HR policies and procedures. You will work closely with the senior manager organisational development and the leadership team to align HR strategies with the organizational goals and objectives.
We want to ensure our people have the great employee experience throughout their employment lifecycle. You will lead a customer centric support service providing HR operational advice and support to our people and people leads on all aspects of the employee lifecycle at LSV.
You will develop and foster strong partnerships across the business to ensure the People activities and initiatives align with our business units and build a hr partnership model.
As a people focused HR generalist, you will provide advice and guidance on all people related matters including recruitment, onboarding, oversee the full employee lifecycle administration and contractual requirements, coaching, performance management, engagement, culture, growth and development, and also be actively involved with the continuous improvement of our policies, processes, systems and offerings.
The role will be based in Port Melbourne, with the ability to work from regional offices including Geelong and Carrum Downs.
**Who are you?**
You will be an experienced HR Generalist or HR Business Partner with a passion for people. You will have a high-level communication and interpersonal skills to build trusting and respectful partnerships. You will have team leadership experience and a sound knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation and frameworks.
You will have the ability to think on your feet and provide alternative solutions to resolve problems. You will be resilient and have the ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
We are seeking an energetic, self-starter, who is innovative, and process orientated to provide leadership in the human resources function, this is a busy, multi-task-oriented role offering significant variety.
