**About the Job**
As the appointed Safety professional reporting to the Operations manager some of the requirements of the role will include, such duties as:

- Assessing risk and possible operational safety hazards
- Being prevention-focused through equipment maintenance and employee training
- Presenting safety principles and activities during relevant meetings
- Updating knowledge of WHS protocols through continuing education of the workforce
- Creating site safety plans, suggesting improvements to existing equipment, environment and business processes
- Sharing information, suggestions and observations with the leadership team creating consistent safety standards
- Coordinate emergency planning, procedures and training updates
- Review and contribute to procedures for managing workplace risks including risk assessments
- Investigating job site accidents and other unsafe conditions
- Preventing future accidents through best practice initiatives
- Manage RTW/injury management services with injured workers and supervisors
- Conduct compliance reviews and business reporting
- Keep business updated on COVID compliance requirements as legislated

**Skills And Experience**
To succeed in this role, suitable applicants must have:

- Minimum Certificate 4 in OHS or similar equivalent
- Previous 2+ years experience in a similar safety role within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong influencing skills within a robust/diverse working environment
- Solid computer skills - Microsoft office suite & Incident report systems
- A sound understanding of current legislation and standards
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
