About the role

12 Month Fixed Term Contract | Melbourne Based | Hybrid Office

Electrification & Innovation (E&I) enables Australia's clean energy transition by rapidly developing sustainable electrification solutions. We turn bold ideas into scalable products that shape a cleaner future.

The Innovation Product Owner leads the discovery and validation of new concepts, prioritising initiatives that deliver the most value. Through a fast, data-driven process, they develop MVPs to test market fit, transitioning successful ideas into broader development.

This role sits within the Innovation & Strategy Value Stream, focused on emerging product validation and supporting E&I’s portfolio.

What you’ll be doing- Research and identify innovative opportunities aligned with team goals, collaborating with Strategy to shape the future of energy.- Design and run bold experiments to test hypotheses, validate product-market fit, and uncover powerful insights that drive smarter decisions.- Set and own clear OKRs to guide incubation products toward sustainable growth and long-term value.- Drive end-to-end product development with cross-functional teams, champion product vision, and engage stakeholders with clear, compelling updates.- Build strong ties with startups and innovation networks, share knowledge, and embed innovation practices across AGL to amplify impact.

About you:
- Previous demonstrated experience working Product 0wner or similar role, demonstrating successful oversight of multiple product initiatives in an innovation context such as an incubation hub or creative context.- Analytical mindset, adept at translating evolving market insights and user feedback into actionable product enhancements.- Strong business modelling skills, capable of translating concepts into practical and scalable strategies.- Exceptional leadership and collaboration abilities, fostering a cohesive and innovative team environment.- Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools, ensuring effective backlog management and sprint planning.
