**The Role**
This role is responsible for supporting course implementation and administration for leadership and management training within the Navy.
Administration Officers work alongside professional Naval Officers and Sailors in a dynamic, integrated environment to support the facilitation of Defence training.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Pre-course administration - assisting in coordinating course outlines.
- Managing training - learning resources and learning spaces.
- Logistical support of travel and accommodation requirements.
- Management of learner administration through data entry and administration.
The Administration Officer role functions under limited direction to perform and achieve straightforward procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce.
**About Our Team**
An exciting opportunity exists within Defence for a motivated and enthusiastic APS 3 Administration Officer to join the Leadership and Management Development Centre team at the Naval Base HMAS Penguin in Sydney.
This team supports the delivery of career development training for sailors and officers of the Royal Australian Navy with goals of enhancing Mariner mastery in leadership and management within Defence.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Initiative, ability to effectively multi-task and demonstrate key attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to deal directly with Defence, APS and external personnel.
- Organisational skills, ability to work to deadlines, prioritise tasks and demonstrate effective time management.
- A practical understanding of learning and development with a desire of experience in the training sector.
- Experience in activity scheduling such as training courses or learning programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, actively participating in and contributing to team meetings and exchange information to influence the work area and team objectives.
- Skills in data entry/analysis and the use of electronic learning management systems.
