About the opportunity

We seek a skilled individual to work in our Aboriginal Programs team providing support and outreach to our familes at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg.- This is an Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander identified position - Permanent Part-time 4 days per week- As part of a multi-disciplinary team, provide outreach and support to promote health and well-being for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women and their families- Assist and advise on the development of culturally sensitive programs, especially in the priority area of the Nangnak Wan Myeek policy framework, to support a healthy start to life for Aborginal and Torres Strait Islander children.- Assist in the identification of barriers for Aboriginal families in accessing health care

- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to the Victorian Aboriginal community, culture, values and women’s and children's health needs- High level skills in the provision of support and advocacy to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people- Well-developed communication skills and a demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team- You are a dedicated and motivated individual- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
