**About the Diversity & Inclusion Consultant**:
Reporting to the Head of Organisational Development & Capability (OD&C) and working closely with leaders across Community Services division, the DEI Business Partner is responsible for continuing to build on the great achievements of Councils diversity, equity and inclusion agenda and bring the strategy to life. This is a true business partner role which would suit someone who can operate at all levels of the organisation both from a strategic perspective with our Executive team and senior leaders as well as a hands on implementing the People & Culture deliverables for DEI.
You will actively own and be responsible for all DEI activities which will include scoping, research, analysis, design, delivery, facilitation, evaluation and reporting of DEI initiatives. You will partner and be supported by the broader P&C and OD&C team for all DEI initiatives. This includes but is not limited to:
- Partnering with the Community Capacity Building team to ensure successful implementation of community plans such as the Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), the Domestic & Family Violence Action Plan, and contributing to new plans such as the First Nations Strategy
- Supporting the current DEI ERG’s (LGBTIQ+, Gender, Multi-generational, Veteran’s and Disability) and setting up new groups such as Culture & Heritage
- Partnering with PC&W, Community Services colleagues and the broader organisation regarding diversity, equity and inclusion
- Embedding DEI into all people practices such as leadership and talent development, policies, talent acquisition practices
- Leading the early careers portfolio and look to build on the student programs currently in place (internship and graduates) and build a pipeline of diverse talent
- Designing, managing and facilitating programs, communications and events designed to raise awareness of diversity, equity and inclusion across the organisation
- Designing, managing and facilitating programs to build capability in inclusive leadership
- Embedding DEI into reporting and developing executive reports on DEI progress
**About You**
To be successful, you will be degree qualified (or working towards) in HR, Adult Education or similar.
You will bring at least 5 years’ experience in an L&OD function and can demonstrate your experience in leading portfolios across DEI and Early Careers.
Additionally, you can demonstrate your excellent communication skills with stakeholders, both internal and external and at all levels, project management and reporting.
