**About the Performance & Reporting Decision Support**
The Performance & Reporting Decision Support (PRDS) Division is responsible for five key areas:
- Clinical Reporting & Analytics
- Corporate Reporting
- Health Information Services (HIS)
- Data Services
- Reporting & Analytical Projects
Clinical reporting covers all analytical and reporting services for Austin Health in relation to clinical operations and assists with research analytics. Corporate reporting oversees clinical costing, funding analytics and corporate reporting. The P&R team are also responsible for the Austin data warehouses and provision of data to the organisation.
HIS consists of medical record scanning, casemix/coding services, submissions of external mandatory activity reporting, corporate records management, morbidity data collection and release of patient information including Freedom of Information.
The PRDS team has a staffing of approximately 70 EFT located over multiple sites.
**About the role**
An exciting opportunity exists in the Corporate Reporting team for an analyst to join our team on a full time basis. The role will see you:
- Act as a resource to the Organisation on Activity Based Funding, including the transition to the National Funding Model.
- Participate in the activity target setting process in conjunction with the relevant clinical and financial areas and staff.
- Provide accurate and timely whole of hospital activity and performance reporting.
- Proactively use data to provide analytical reporting and deliver insights to the organisation on revenue and mandatory data reporting.
- Provide advice on issues and trends derived from costing and performance data.
- Consistently review the relevance, quality and accuracy of existing reports.
- Design reports in accordance with the organisational style and reporting guidelines.
- Actively participate in meetings, working groups, steering committees and improvement programs.
- Work collaboratively with other PRDS staff to ensure there is sufficient knowledge transfer and information sharing across teams.
- Develop a collaborative and trusted relationship with executive, directors, managers, clinical and non-clinical staff across the organization.
**About you**
Essential Knowledge and skills:
- Experience in working with large complex data sets such as VAED, VEMD, VINAH and ESIS
- Microsoft Business Intelligence Reporting Suite experience essential
- Proficiency in Structure Query Language (SQL)
- Analytical & problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Good organisational, time management, written and verbal skills
- Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in an appropriate health or business field
Desirable Knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge of Public Health data, specifically funding
- Understanding of data governance
- Communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels of the organisation
