The Role
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Internal Communications Specialist to shape and deliver engaging, purposeful communications that strengthen staff connection, support cultural transformation, and drive the successful implementation of MLC’s People Strategy.
This part-time role blends strategy with hands-on delivery—perfect for an experienced communicator who can plan, write, and execute high-quality content across multiple channels. You’ll work closely with leaders, project teams, and stakeholders across the College to ensure clarity, alignment, and consistency in staff communications.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement MLC’s internal communications strategy, aligning with the People Strategy and College priorities.
- Support leaders with key messages, toolkits, and communications for organisational initiatives and change projects.
- Strengthen MLC’s Employer of Choice profile through internal and external storytelling (including LinkedIn).
- Introduce governance, tone, and planning frameworks to improve communication clarity and reduce noise.
- Measure communication effectiveness and continuously improve content and channels.

About You
You are a confident communicator with the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, inclusive, and engaging messages. You’ll thrive in a role that blends planning with delivery and requires collaboration across multiple teams.

Essential:

- Proven experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofing skills for a range of channels.
- Experience with intranet/content management systems (SharePoint preferred).
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to child safety and wellbeing.
- Current Working with Children's Check

Desirable:

- Experience in education, not-for-profit, or complex organisational settings.
- Understanding of change management communications.
