Norton Livestock Handling Solutions is Australia’s leading manufacturer and supplier of farm gates, gate hardware, customised livestock yard solutions, livestock handling equipment and associated rural products into the animal farming sector since 1989.
**The Opportunity**
We are looking for an experienced Inventory Controller to manage inventory across our manufacturing sites in Australia. This role involves overseeing the entire inventory lifecycle, from raw materials to finished goods, and includes the creation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOM). You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including production, procurement, and engineering, to ensure inventory processes are accurate, efficient, and cost-effective.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining accurate inventory records in the ERP system, covering raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Developing and updating Bills of Materials in partnership with production and engineering teams to optimize BOMs.
- Collaborating with procurement to ensure timely stock replenishment and managing related purchase and work orders.
- Conducting regular cycle counts and inventory audits to verify accuracy.
- Generating reports on inventory usage, stock levels, and turnover for management review.
**The Fit**
To succeed in this role, you’ll also need:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
- Proven experience in inventory control and BOM management within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in inventory management software, with experience in SAP a must.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control best practices and cost-effective inventory strategies.
- Familiarity with Bill of Materials, kit assemblies, and inventory reporting.Financial literacy, with an understanding of how inventory transactions impact manufacturing and supply chain operations.
