Play a critical role in managing inventory and ensuring smooth operations at our Yarraville manufacturing site.
Sugar Australia has a permanent full-time opportunity for an Inventory Controller at our Yarraville VIC manufacturing site. Reporting to the Packing & Warehouse Production Manager, this role is responsible for accurate inventory management, timely packaging material supply, and SAP transactions to support packing and warehouse operations.

The sweet things you'll be involved in:
As the Inventory Controller, you'll play a key role in maintaining stock accuracy and supporting production efficiency. You will be responsible for:

  • Managing packing and warehouse inventory, investigating variances, and minimising write off costs.
  • Ordering and scheduling packaging materials to meet production requirements.
  • Leading initiatives to improve inventory control, transactional accuracy and stocktake processes.
  • Monitoring pallet inventory and costs to meet budget expectations.
  • Completing all SAP transactions for packing work orders and inventory control.
  • Overseeing cycle counts, stocktakes and variance investigations.
  • Coordinating returns and credits for faulty packaging materials.
  • Collaborating with packing, warehouse, and planning teams to support production schedules.

What we're wanting you to bring to the table:
We're looking for someone with strong organisational, analytical and communication skills with proven experience in inventory management. You'll bring:

  • Experience in inventory control within a manufacturing environment, including stock counting and variance investigation.
  • Experience in scheduling and monitoring progress against plans, with the ability to resolve issues proactively.
  • Proficiency with SAP and intermediate Excel skills for production transactions and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of OHS principles and a strong commitment to safety.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and proactive mindset.
